1. Family
Healthy and understanding. I'm thankful to have a family that always supports me on my journey, loves me for who I am though I am not perfect, and encourages me to take on challenges and never afraid of failure. After 13 years apart (since my sister studied abroad in the United States since I was in grade 1), my sister and I are finally here, united in Seattle again.
2. Teachers
I could never ask for more approachable and knowledgable teachers as I am having at the University of Washington. Not only do they lecture me in class but they also give me lessons of life. I still remeber the first time I went to office hour of Prof. Schivell, Department of Biology. I was originally intending to ask her about a problem in class. Then afterwards, we had a valuable conversation that I'm thankful for. I talked to her about how I got an unexpected result in BIO 180 dispite of all the time and effort I put in and asked her what can I do to achieve my goal in BIO 200. She gave me advices that I then kept them as stratagies for most the class I was taking. Most of all, now I feel more confident than ever in biology. I am also thankful for my academic as well as Honors advisers who could listen to my troubles and walk me through ever single obstacle.
3. Friends
I'm thankful for my best friends who's seen my worst and made my life a thousand times easier. I'm thankful for my old friends in Vietnam who's always got my back. Though we are in a long distance friendship but they are always there for me whenever I need their support. I'm thankful for friends with whom I made in college. They have been an irreplaceable part of my college time and play a role in shaping me.
4. I'm thankful for being who I am and for being here at the University of Washington. I'm thankful for my health, knowledge, sanity and everyone who helped make my goals more achievable. I'm thankful for all the ups and downs, good times and bad times, achievement and failure in life.
I'm thankful for all of you, who cares enough to spend time reading my blog, who has been supportive of me even though we may not be close, or haven't even met yet. I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving, I wish you health and happiness. I hope you are thankful for what you have, and please don't forget to share with people around you.
P.S: I'm specially thankful for the Tavenner's family for inviting me to their Thanksgiving dinner twice, last year and this year. Thank you for teaching me about American tradition and giving me a warm feeling when I'm in homesickness while nowadays more people are forgetting the tradition and living the fast-speed lives
